Dennis, who once lived on Skid Row, currently acts as a peer advocate at the Skid Row Housing Trust. He is a shining example of true courage to overcome huge challenges to regain his rightful place amongst Us.
11am to 2pm : Survival Kit Assembly (adults and families welcome)
This shift finishes the kit assembly and then transitions to clean up. Because some volunteers leave to distribute Survival Kits beginning at 11am, this shift is important to ensure that we finish assembling the kits.

Volunteers must arrive at the assembly location at the start of the shift (11:00 am) to receive instructions, sign waiver, decide where to go and pick up the completed kits for distribution. Outreach committee members will help volunteers choose whether to visit known areas where homeless live OR they may join a group to visit a pre-arranged facility or shelter. The distribution occurs off-site and duration of service may vary depending upon locations and need. Volunteers often ride with others but we recommend being prepared to provide your own transportation. If you have questions about this please contact [email protected].
